Common Problems: Full Treatment - Class I

This phase of treatment normally begins at age 11 to 12+. Since the adult dentition is present, it is time to strive for the ideal functional and aesthetic relationships. Three common classifications and examples are:

  • Class I - molar and cuspid positioning with other concerns
  • Class II - forward positioning of upper molars and cuspids
  • Class III - forward positioning of lower molars and cuspids
Class I
Molars and cuspids are positioned in the proper anterior-posterior relationship but other concerns are present.
Examples of Dr. Turner's Treatment

Problem: Spacing and missing teeth

Solution: Treatment involved improving the anterior deep bite relationship while closing the spacing between the teeth and masking the two missing upper premolars.

Problem: Spacing and anterior deep bite.

Solution: Treatment involved correction of the anterior deep bite and closing the spacing between the anterior teeth.
